Hum dee dum dee hum....

Well been a bit bored today not much to report its the end of the September weekend and it was a rather quiet one (but OK all the same, my cousin made a good curry on Saturday which i suffered the wrath of yesterday :)

One thing I did notice today and for a wee while is the Akasa power supply in my PC was getting ridiculously warm, it wasnt overheating but it was churning alot of heat and keeping my room a bit too warm. So I swapped it round for another spare I have and the room seems a fair bit cooler now, phewww! Thats the prob with Akasa's stuff it can run really hot, you would need another fan to counteract the heat in there.

Ah well as I said bit bored not much else to report... I am close to finishing off playing the new Broken Sword Angel of Death game so I might post a review of it on here soon.

Tis the season of gaming...

Well we're into September again and its round about this time of year we start to see some of the year's best games coming out. So far don't see a great deal of smashing games out available for the PC port but I'm keeping my eyes fairly peeled and so far I've played the demo of the latest Broken Sword game, Angel of Death, which I have to say was very good.

The Broken Sword series is a refreshing break from all those usual shoot em' up games that are on sale out here just now, as there's a fair bit of brain activity involved, you need to quite often try and sort puzzles out but there's also some plenty of nice bits of running action in between not to mention a lot of witty dialogue, bit like Tomb Raider without the big chest and guns. So I'm looking forward to the full game when it comes out next week.

The latest installment of Splinter Cell sounds fairly interesting aswell as you play both sides, the NSA and their enemies, so that will make for a pretty big game I should imagine. And on a purely amusing note the Xbox 360 game, Dead Rising looks like fun, too, where you are literally transported into the biggest George Romero horror film of all, with thousands of zombies coming at you in a shopping mall, and you can dispose of them in hundreds of ways (even kill them with a guitar!). Although I don't personally own a XBox 360 as of yet, sadly, although I wouldn't mind since they are now bringing some HD compatible titles and wouldn't mind trying that on my HD ready TV.

So anyone who wants to read a review of any of the upcoming games I'll be playing, read this blog (if you like) ;)

Steve Irwin Rest in peace

Was rather shocked and surprised to learn of Aussie, bushwhacker, outback, "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin's death today. Steve was killed by a Stingray while he was swimming off the Queensland's Great Barrier Reef (so it says on Wikipedia) as it pierced him in the chest, later after being rushed to hospital he was pronounced dead, having suffered a fatal cardiac arrest.

I must admit though some of Steve's past antics having watched them on TV had me concerned just by watching them, about his safety. One episode of his shows I remember was when he was out tracking snakes, and he spotted a Cobra and he attemped to try and pick it up by its tail, but it came very close to biting him and he had to keep his distance as much as he could from the snake as it was very aggressive. Not to mention the danger he could easily have put his son into when he held him in one hand while dangling a dead bit of chicken in front of a crocodile. He also often sustained various injuries during his job, but he was very much a thrillseeker and one of those people who loved his jobs (perhaps a little much. Crikey!).

Nonetheless his death was as shock and a real shame, cos there weren't too many Aussie nature celebs with his zest and personality. So here's to Steve Irwin, you'll be missed.
